Since 2004, MDeC has taken initiatives to help MSC Malaysia companies in raising their level of competitiveness by nurturing, developing and providing research and development grants. Since then, more than 1,800 Malaysian IT companies and over 230 companies have achieved skills and capabilities that are at par with those of global companies from more developed nations.

Today, we are enhancing our initiatives by providing holistic development focusing on we call solutions for business performance, operational management, marketing capability, management capability, financial capabilities and innovation talent/ human capital. Complimenting these solutions are new and improved solutions in the area of product assessment, intellectual property (IP) and innovation programmes. Research & development grants are further fine-tuned to support specific technology focus areas to encourage companies to produce innovative and commercially viable products.

We believe that these solutions will strengthen MSC Malaysia companies' capabilities and competencies and enable them to innovate and compete in future, in an innovation-led economy
